NHER 11550 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Three ring ditches

Group of three or four ring ditches (possibly two conjoined) visible on aerial photographs (S1-S4).
First reported to A. Lawson (NAU) by [1] in 1974.

A linear group of three ring ditches, probably Bronze Age in date, visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs (S2-S3). The site is centred on TF 9661 4097 and the ring ditches are located in a line running along the contour of a valley side. These are likely to be part of a small Bronze Age cemetery. Another Bronze Age round barrow is located to the west along the same contour of the valley side (NHER 11326). On the valley floor to the west are the remains of an earthwork round barrow (NHER 1854) and to the north, also on the valley floor, is a large concentric barrow or possible hengiform monument (NHER 27074).
Three ring ditches arranged in an east-west linear alignment that roughly follows the line of the 15m contour. The westernmost ring ditch is centred on TF 9658 4097, measuring 17m in diameter and the ditch is 1.5m across. The central ring ditch is centred on TF 9662 4098 and is 15.5m across. The easternmost example is 18m across and again the ditch is almost 1.5m across.
