Post medieval defensive structure.
"Pill box". Circular. Stone, with gunports.
On north bank of road (on 6 inch map, under 't' of 'Bloodslat Lane').

Reference (S1) states that this structure dates from World War I.

Type WIA World War One pillbox from 1916-18 once stood on north side of B1150 facing seawards. Demolished in about1992.

A circular World War One pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S3-5). The grid reference for this pillbox has been corrected from TG 3397 3313 to TG 3386 3312. This pillbox was incorporated into a defensive barbed wire perimeter around Pollard Street and Bacton Grange during World War Two (See NHER 38983).
