14 Nelson Road (Red House).

Excellent early 18th century brick house, two storeys with attic, five bays, three dormers with flat tops. Georgian doorcase occupies central ground floor bay. Pantiled. 19th century additions at rear.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Good 18th-century house. Red brick. Steep black-glazed pantile roof with coped gabled ends. Brick dentilled eaves cornice; two storeys and attic. Five windows. Sashes with glazing bars, and segmental brick arches. Good central pilastered doorway…Three flat-roofed dormers with cornices and sashes with glazing bars. Brick chimney stacks over gabled ends. Late 19th-century wing at rear."

The building retains many interesting plasterwork, woodwork and metalwork details, which stylistically seem to reflect the eighteenth-century date.
