Summary

A watching brief carried out by the Norfolk Archaeological Unit in 1999 on the site of the cropmarks (see NHER 49203 and NHER 49204) revealed Roman ditches, a possible hearth, and pottery dating to the 3rd to 4th century, suggesting that this site is associated with the late 3rd century Roman fort (NHER 10471) and Vicus (NHER 49204).
