Long narrow rectangular cropmark, with faint traces of other linear marks.
E. Rose (NAU), 19 October 1976.

19 July 1996. NLA air photography.
Suggests cropmarks may extend into field to the north. Two linear features visible. Probably also numerous smaller ditched anomalies, although less clear.
M. Brennand (NLA), 20 August 2001.

June 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Fragmented linear ditch features (see above) of an uncertain date are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). It is possible that the features may have related to a series of boundary ditches and field boundaries. The date of the features is uncertain although it is possible that some of the features may be medieval to post medieval in date. From the alignment of the features, it is possible that there were at least two phases of activity. However due to the fragmentary nature of the ditches it’s difficult to accurately assign phases to the features. A dense area of geological cropmarks can be seen across the area and its possible that some of the features may be natural in origin. The cropmarks of post medieval boundaries recorded on the readily available historic maps (for example S4) are visible on the consulted sources. As these features have been mapped in good detail on the historic maps, they have not been mapped as part of this project. The monument polygon has been slightly amended.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 15 June 2022.
