A cropmark of a double ring ditch, probably relating to a Bronze Age round barrow, is visible on aerial photographs (S2-S5). The inner ditch is slightly sub-circular in plan with a 2m wide ditch and an external diameter of 27m. It is almost completely visible as a cropmark, with only a 7.5m wide break present in its southeast side. The outer ditch is also 2m wide with an external diameter of approximately 35m. A large section of the southeast side of the outer ring ditch is not visible as a cropmark. It is likely that the ring ditch is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. An earthwork round barrow, with a similar diameter to the inner ring ditch cropmark, is present 250m to the north (NHER 3381).
J. Albone (NMP), 23 January 2008.
