Central building of group opposite road to north.
Late Elizabethan or Jacobean. Two storeyed porch with Tudor arch and pedimented window, very much in 'local builder' style. Clear traces under eaves of original long low windows, now blocked. Blocked door on ground floor, but this was probably a later insertion. Much blocking at rear. Two original square chimneys evenly spaced along ridge, but tiled roof is renewed. Each gable has a single small window (that to west blocked). West gable has also courses of tiles and a small turret like extension. The barn to west is of many periods and may contain flintwork contemporary with the house. Very good condition.
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 27 October 1976. Information from record card (S2).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 10 March 2023.
