Summary

The cropmarks of a series of probable boundary ditches of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs. The majority of the features most likely relate to field boundaries. It is also possible that some of the features may relate to rectilinear enclosures. It is most likely that the features relate to multiple phases of use. Although the date of the features is unknown, a medieval to post medieval date is possible. However, an earlier date for some of the features cannot be ruled out.

The cropmarks of a series of probable boundary ditches of an unknown date are visible on aerial photographs (S2-S6). The possibility that some of the mapped features could be natural in origin or relate to modern drainage features, also cannot be ruled out. The cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries recorded on the readily accessible historic maps (S7-S8) are also visible on the consulted sources. These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps. The monument polygon has been amended to the extent of the features as seen on S2-S6.
