Map

3 November 1976. Field Observation.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU):
Cottage (with 'W' on 6 inch Ordnance Survey map).
Red brick, the north gable stepped but one side much higher than the other. In the base of this gable wall are two pedimented windows. Rest of building is a mixture of blockings and different sorts of brick. Stylistically there is no reason why the gable wall should not be Elizabethan or Jacobean, but writer is not altogether happy with it; perhaps it is just that the brickwork has been cleaned.
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 3 November 1976. Information from (S1).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 19 February 2021.
