Map

Rectangular cropmark seen about here by A.J. Lawson (NAU).

November 2009. Norfolk NMP.
A possible rectilinear enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2) to the north of Horsford Woods plantation, centred on TG 1921 1893.
Only the southeast corner of the possible enclosure is visible, and it may relate to drainage ditches in the area.
It consists of a north-south ditch which runs for 59m, then after a possible corner, a northeast-southwest ditch that runs for 57m. There is one possible break, or entrance, in this southern ditch, at TG 1920 1892. A second break, to the west, is caused by masking of the archaeology due to tram lines in the crop.
There are several drainage ditches visible running across this area, and it is likely that this feature may represent relatively modern drainage feature.
E. Bales (NMP), November 2009.
