Location

Civil Parish NORTH CREAKE, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

Two dark parallel lines in crop, diverging from east side of B1155 at junction with field boundary and running north, not quite to parish boundary. Air photographs checked by E. Rose (NAU), 29 November 1976.

October 2025. Northwest Norfolk Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AI&M) Project.
The linear soilmarks described above, which probably relate to a trackway, are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The trackway is undated but it leads from the corner of the modern field towards a former extraction pit (also visible as a soilmark on the aerial photographs, but not mapped), and seems likely to be of relatively recent, possibly modern date.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 3 October 2025.
