Cropmark, just south of school, in form of dark thick outline to rectangle, moated site?
Air photographs checked by E. Rose (NAU), 1 December 1976.

Very slight broad depressions, no more than 0.15m deep, indicate the moat which is now within the village playing field. A continuation of the northern arm towards the northwest is also noted.

The low earthworks of the medieval moat are visible on visualised lidar data from a survey flown in 2018. The moat appears to be mostly complete apart from the northeast corner (centred at TF 6193 0506) which is covered by a modern building.
