Summary

Fragments of Roman and medieval pottery, together with two pieces of Roman glass, were found in a garden in 1976 and 1984.

1976. 35 New Street. Found in garden.
Two sherds of Roman pottery and two sherds of early medieval like Grimston.
Information from A. Lawson (NAU).

23 October 1984. Further finds from same garden.
Two dozen sherds Roman greyware.
Medieval sherd, Grimston ware? of vessel with bung hole.
Two fragments blue and green Roman glass.
Numerous 'flints' were in fact natural.
Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU), 23 October 1984.
