Summary

Fragments of medieval and post medieval pottery and a post medieval chamber pot were found when drains were dug to the north of St James' Church (NHER 5484).

Before June 1971. Casual discovery.
Drains dug north of the surviving north transept of St. James' church produced a few body sherds of Grimston jug, and body sherds of 17th century stoneware, lead glazed earthenware and a slipware chamber pot ((S1) Fig. 118, No. 214).
