13 Hall Quay.

June 1953. Listed Grade II.

Flint façade dated 1609. Behind this remains of timber framing, called 'earlier' by List though it dates the building as early 17th century. Good panelled room on first floor, early 17th century also, with pilasters and elaborate chimney piece. Details from (S1).
Compiled by E. Rose (NLA). Information from (S2).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 13 March 2022.

The revised list (S1) of 1998 states the 'earlier' work at the rear is a crownpost attached to a wall which it states is a 14th century roof of a guildhall! Yet it is only Grade II.
