December 1951. Listed, Grade II.
See (S1).

February 1974. Building Survey.
Examined by Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England (RCHME):
House of about 1700 - of this date matrix of rear, and timber roof, survives, also attic staircase with balusters (but reset?). Altered in the later 18th century including refronting in red brick and refitting internally. This involved changing the plan to the current form. Ground floor modernised in the 19th century. Also of latter date is fine plaster work, stair balusters etc.
Information from record card (S2). See report (S3) for further details.
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 17 March 2025.

(S1) however sees as all 19th century.

KLM has engraving of fine 18th century fireplace 'formerly in Stonegate House', apparently this building.
E. Rose (NLA), 9 December 2002.

May 2004.
Rear wall of house, exposed following demolition of factory behind, briefly seen but obscured by scaffolding in part. Ground floor is of early post-medieval red brick, could easily be about 1700 as RCHME suggested, or even earlier. Upper floor 19th/20th century.
