Full Description
11 July 1972. Building survey, houses not entered.
A pair of two-storey houses sharing a common entrance passage and built at the very beginning of the 19th century. The front wall is of yellow brick, the rear of pale red brick. The roof has black-glazed pantiles on the front and unglazed pantiles to the rear. The windows have flat arches in red rubbed brick, and the door has a segmented arch in yellow brick; above it is a blind window to complete the design. Flanking the central door are the quarter-bats for two doorways, but no trace of sill, lintel or even of this provision for doors ever having been made use of. It may represent a very early change in the plan during building.
See (S1) for further information.
