Summary

This pair of cottages were originally built adjoining a water mill, which has since been destroyed. The houses themselves are of flint and brick, and have two date stones with the dates of 1698 and 1786.

Pair of cottages, flint, brick lettering in gable '1698 MBEB'. In stone over door nearest the gable is 'LG 1786'. No evidence of rebuilding - perhaps a marriage or occupation stone. Former water mill adjoined, now demolished.
Houses to be restored.
NARG survey (S1) 1 August 1975 in file.
House under drastic reconstruction 13 November 1979.
Dated wall to be preserved; roof to be restored to old thatched line.
