Map

Before June 1971. Rear of 21 High Street. Casual discovery.
A reliable workman brought in a collection of material, largely tin-glazed earthenware, which was 'all in the same area of dark soil which looked like a pit. It was cutting through chalk floors'. The whole group, for which a date of 1680-1720 is suggested both by clay pipes and the Chinese porcelain, has been drawn (indicated by the letter 'd' on figures).
