Information from (S1).

March 1978. Visit.
This is a very fine house, recently restored. Seven bays, the centre three projecting; shaped gables, three tall chimneys.
Remains of chequerwork and brick plinth in south gable wall.
E. Rose (NAU), 21 March 1978.

(S2) shows that one set of chimneys has polygonal shafts, the others have square shafts; two sets are internal gable stacks whereas the third is at the centre of the house and probably later. The cental three bays are in fact defined by giant pilasters rather than projecting; there is a change in roof line level with the right hand pilaster, and there are pilasters at the ends of the facades also. Columned porch. Only the right hand gable (beyond the change in roof height) is shaped. This may suggest that whereas the basic building with the octagonal chimneys is of 1612 it was extended and given a new
facade later in the 17th century.
