Summary

This mid-17th-century house has two crosswings, one of which does not project beyond the stem block. There are traces of a former attached building at the end of the north wing that may predate the main house. There is a remarkable vaulted cellar probably dating to the 13th or 14th century.

Original Listing Description:
"17th century, brick. Tiled with swept valleys, two front Dutch gables. Front plastered and painted. Two storey and attic. Pedimented hoods on gables. Good chimneys. Five sash window at first floor, glazing bars remained to No 8. Modern shop fronts. 2nd floor band.
Nos 2, 4 and 8 to 12 (even) [NHERs 46900 and 12226] form a group with No 49 Priory Road [NHER 46908]."

House, now with shop on ground floor, long, with Dutch gable at each end of facade (E), each enclosing a window with pediment supported on little corbels. Thus not long after 1600. Tiled roof. Chimneys truncated after building was listed. Fair condition.

Mid-17th-century house with two crosswings, one not projecting beyond the stem block. Interior mostly concealed or altered but some decoration visible. Traces of former attached building at end of north wing may redate main house. Remarkable vaulted cellar similar to other 13th-/14th-century examples, but dateable details obscured.
