Summary

A complex timber framed building, which was probably originally a medieval hall house, with upper floors and a stack inserted in about 1600. During the 17th and 18th centuries the house was altered and extended. The house is said locally to stand on a medieval manorial site.

Possibly began as a two cell hall house, floored with stack of about 1600.
Grand extension with chimney, possible garderobe, and cellar also of about 1600, may be contemporary with flooring. Inserted staircase in mid 17th century style postdates this work.
Extension at other end in 18th century.
19th century alterations.
