Map

March 1976. RCHM survey.
No. 70 to 72 High Street.
Early 19th century red brick house, two storeys, three bays, central doorway. Three storey addition at rear. Derelict at time of survey.
See (S1).

June 1978. Visit.
Street numbers seem to have been changed.
This house has either been demolished for a block of flats (improbable as flats seem too old) or entirely rebuilt in replica.
It is indeed difficult to locate this building but clearly it has been demolished. The `replica' building mentioned above is nothing like the photograph. Nothing like the photograph remains in the area but the road junction in the foreground suggests that it did stand on the site of the `replica'.
E. Rose (NAU), 2 June 1978.
