Map

In a plantation at Burgh St Margaret belonging to the Reverend Lucas, a circular foundation was found.
He called it a moated manor. It was also identified with a royal hunting lodge mentioned in the 14th century as at 'Burgh', but which one?
See (S1).

According to (S2), Reverend Lucas owned two plantations, this one and a smaller one at TG 4510 1385.
This one is probably the one meant, as its juxtaposition to Burgh House was probably the reason for the manor supposition. A circular foundation however sounds more like a dovecote or wind mill.
