Full Description
Dated 1436 on a beam.
Information from toe Bolingbroke Colleciton (S2).
Local information states that Porch House is the same as Porch Farm on 1:10,000 OS.
The building is not listed.
E. Rose (NAU), 28 May 1998.
This site has now been marked on GIS as Porch Farm (original NGR was TF 5840 2045) at present due to differences between old 1:10000 OS map and modern 1:2500 map. The position may be changed again in future if more information is forthcoming.
M. Horlock (NLA), 8 July 2003.
June 2026. HER Enhancement: Forestry Commission Project K.
The current mapped location, from 2003, is on a modern building. The label for Porch Farm on the modern Ordnance Survey MasterMap is misleading and the farm is slightly set back from the road, with the entrance leading behind other buildings. Comparision with the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (S3) indicates that Porch Farm is located approximate 38m to the east, at TF 58397 20433, which is the location originally mapped.
H. Hamilton (HES), 28 June 2026.
