April 1978.
The date is 1678, on east gable wall of flint which has two pairs of small blocked windows in brick and a central plaque or blank window. Rest of building much altered.

October 1984. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
Public house dated 1678 of colourwashed brick and flint with pantiled roof. Northern section of three windows, two storeys and attics, extended to south with four windows of two storeys. 1½ storey rear outshut and single storeyed 20th century extension. Facade to road, has two 20th century hipped roofed porches flanking long canted bay window with hipped roof. 4 and 2-light 18th century windows on first floor with wrought iron casements. Steep pitched roof at north end, with 2 gabled dormers at rear, and parapet gable with brick kneelers, tie irons and date plaque in peak. Side stacks at rear, north and south, and front to south. Interior mainly 20th century. 20th century extensions not of special interest.
