Summary

Finds from this site included pieces of dressed medieval limestone that may have come from medieval Ladybridge chapel (NHER 5551) that stood nearby, fragments of medieval pottery, a medieval storage jar and a jug.

Recovered from Stonegate.
Fragments of dressed oolitic limestone (Barnack-type) found just below modern disturbance and above soil containing sherds of Grimston jug and curfew (see (S1) fig. 141, no. 34), a Grimston Thetford-type storage jar ((S1) fig. 77, no. 1), and an Andennes-type jug ((S1) fig. 101, no. 6). It is possible that the building stone came from the Ladybridge chapel (NHER 5551) which stood just to the north of this spot.
