Before June 1971. Casual discovery followed by observation.
Shallow trenching, in addition to 15th to 18th century red ware and stoneware ((S1) fig. 128, no.368), the site produced sherds of Grimston and Yorkshire jug, north and southwest French jug, Dutch earthenwares, and London-type jug (type as (S1) fig. 98, no. 4).
Subsequent deeper trenching through early floor levels produced body sherds of Software, Grimston cooking pot and Stamford jug.
