Summary

In 1977 a piece of Bronze Age pottery was found in disturbed soil. Metal-detecting between 2018 and 2019 recovered medieval and post-medieval coins; aswell as Late Iron Age/Roman, Roman, Early/Middle Saxon, and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman cosmetic mortar; a Roman brooch; Early/Middle Saxon tweezers; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness pendant; a medieval/post-medieval leash swivel; and a post-medieval cloth seal.

A. Gregory (NAU) and A. Rogerson (NAU) found small sherd, flint-gritted, reddish surface, grey core: in disturbed soil next to droveway on edge of field south of Burrow Hills.

August-October 2018. Metal-detecting survey. Site extended to the whole field. [1].

Roman brooch.
Early/Middle Saxon tweezers.
3 medieval coins, a buckle and a harness pendant.
Medieval/post-medieval leash swivel.
