Summary

Aerial photography of this area revealed a giant circular enclosure in a field to the south and overlapping to the east, within which were a multitude of spots. However objects from this area have been generally limited to post medieval pottery sherds, although at the north end of one field a small number of Roman pottery sherds have been recovered.

Map

May 1977.
Field containing blotchy cropmarks, visible on ground as vague dark patches in boulder clay, with denuded topsoil.
Only finds from them are post medieval pantile and brick.
But at north end of field one flint gritted sherd (date?), one small sherd (Roman?), one oxidised red sherd (flower pot, Roman or post medieval) found. [1]
A. Rogerson (NAU).

In fact NAU air photograph shows few cropmarks in this field, but in field to south and overlapping to east is a giant circular enclosure within which are a multitude of spots.

But A. Rogerson (NAU), has now walked these and found only pieces of modern brick.
