early 19th century, but rebuilt in 1862. Red brick structure. The cottage here is late-eighteenth century and may date the first use of the site. Further kilns were built around 1860 when much work was being undertaken on the estate. There was an early open-topped, wood-fired kiln and c.1860 a coal-fired kiln. The remains of the kilns are evident as a single structure. They are possibly first recorded on Faden's map of 1797, where two buildings are depicted.
