Map

Mound. In churchyard, east of church.
1.2m (4ft) high, 4.5m (15ft) across.
Separated from church by graves, with only modern and one 19th century graves east of it.
Grassed over, firm soil, not a rubbish heap.
Seen by E. Rose (NAU) 2 June 1977.

Former estate manager told E. Rose (NAU) 31 January 1980 that local legend says this is the grave of several workmen who died in an accident when building the hall; but he has evidence that this is not true.
Some years ago there were iron railings on top of the mound, but never any gravestones there.
Not a Walpole grave as they are all in the crypt of the church.
