Map

Approximate site of mound marked on (S1) at Holkham Hall (copy NAU) as Catte Hill.
Could be natural, but only other hill marked is Howe Hill.

Visited by E. Rose (NAU) 28 July 1977.
No trace of this; perhaps it was destroyed by the old pit that lies west of the track.

May-June 2012. Walkover Survey.
Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey within Church Wood (Compartment 2a).
This survey identified no convincing evidence for 'Catte Hill'. Its suggested location coincides with a group of irregular mounds thought to represent spoil from nearby extraction.
See NHER 62958 and (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 19 September 2018.
