Summary

Metal detecting here in 1977 and 2000 recovered a Bronze Age pin, seven Roman coins and Iron Age, Roman, medieval, post medieval and undatable metal finds. These included an Iron Age brooch, the foot of a Roman rosette brooch, part of a medieval strap end and an undated patrix die.

May 1977. Metal-detecting.
Found in ploughsoil with metal-detector, in Sandhills field, near but outside area of Roman settlement:
Bronze Age copper alloy pin. Middle Bronze Age type, with expanded, flat-topped head, swollen neck and remains of side-loop.
