Summary

Remains of six timber posts were discovered during the laying of sewer pipes. Close to them was also found a deposit of ash and charcoal interpreted as a firepit. The trench was quickly filled in, and workmen apparently found and removed some pottery sherds.

1960s. Found at depth of around 3ft (0.9m) in laying sewer pipes up land to Broadhaven Nurseries. [1]
Remains of timber posts of around 2ft (0.61m) diameter, six in line about 5ft (1.5m) apart. Close to them deposit of ash and charcoal around 10ft (3m) across, called a firepit. Timber rotten and crumbled away.
Trench quickly filled in; workmen said to have found and removed pottery.
