Summary

A Neolithic quern and a large octagonal stone, possibly the base of a medieval cross, were found in the garden of Great Yard House (NHER12740) in the 1970s.

Objects found in corner of garden of 'Great Yard'.
A Neolithic quern.
Also a large octagonal stone (but with two corners cut off) about 6 feet (1.8m) across and 2 feet (60cm) thick, having a central hole with marks of iron.
Informant [1] believes the octagonal stone to have been a cross base (but how does the iron fit it?).
Both objects retained by owner of property.
