27 March 1944. Aircraft collision.
A Liberator aircraft crashed in this field following collison with another Liberator. Both flew from the United States Army Airforce station at Attlebridge and were en route to the German aerodome in Biarritz, on the Bay of Biscay coast.

Around 1979. Excavation.
The remains of the aircraft were excavated by Mr. Terry and other local enthusiasts.
No further details are available concerning these excavations.
