Full Description
Building mid 16th century.
In 1970 a well (NHER 1282/context 1) was discovered, cut into carstone for 1.2m to 1.5m (4 to 5 feet), then 18m (60 feet) into chalk. Wooden beams, described as 'bored', each 10cm (4 inches) wide and 2.7m (9 feet) long, zigzagged to bottom.

Exterior of building has long brick façade to north, seven bays two storeys, ?late 17th century. Remainder of carstone except 19th century additions. No external evidence for 16th century date except that the carstone work is presumably older than the façade.
