Full Description
Ring ditch cropmark.
Located by E. Rose (NAU), 14 September 1977.
Siting corrected by J.E. Bown (NAU), 12 November 1980.
October 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a ring ditch, probably relating to a Bronze Age round barrow, is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The grid reference for this cropmark has been amended from TG 3101 0998 to TG 3106 1000. The ring ditch is sub-circular in plan with a narrow ditch and an external diameter of 35m. It is likely that it is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. It is situated 15m OD on the northwest facing side of a small valley containing the Witton Run watercourse. Two more ring ditch cropmarks are located 210m and 325m to the northeast, numbered NHER 45129 and NHER 45130.
J. Albone (NMP), 10 October 2006
