Summary

This long, two-storeyed building dates to the 18th century and was constructed in two building phases. The south end has very fine chequered brickwork and there is a projecting stair turret at the rear eastern side. An associated thatched 18th century barn stands to the north.

Listing Description:
House. 18TH century and later; of two builds. Red brick with steep pantile roof. Two storeys and attics, lobby entrance plan 3 and 4 light. Casement windows, unevenly spaced; one ground floor 19th century sash. Off-centre entrance door opposite stack. Parapeted gables. Staircase turret to rear with crow-stepped gable and 2-light casement. Later gabled extension and lean-to, with two chimney stacks, on east side.

Barn under conversion. It does indeed have diagonal skintlings (predating about 1770). Report of 'burnt material found at great depth' beneath it in laying new footings turned out to be natural ferruginous deposits.
