Summary

In 1977 a large number of medieval pottery sherds were found on the ground surface here. Subsequently, in 2005, a variety of other objects were found on site and these comprised a Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age flint scraper, a prehistoric flint blade and pieces of Roman and Late Saxon pottery.

5 October 1977. Field east of church, south of Heydon Hall ruins.
On surface of field which showed signs of recent disturbance as if a pit had been filled in.
Forty-six sherds, all apparently medieval.
