Summary

The rear wing of the pub dates back to the mid 16th century, and has some original ovolo mullioned windows. The main block dates to the 18th century. Fragments of medieval pottery were found inside or beneath the building in 1966 during building work.

July 1993. Listed Grade II.
This record enlarged to include the building itself; (S3) states the rear wing is mid-16th century, front block is late-18th century. Façade is brown brick, rear wing has remains of eleven-light ovolo moulded window, having two king mullions, two bays from each end. A six-light window of similar form.

Website (S5) states that this public house was called the Maid's Head in 1736, renamed Ye Olde Mayden's Head around 1965 and by 1990 was called the Mayden's Head.
