Summary

Between 1977 and 1983 a number of Saxon and medieval pottery sherds were recovered from this area. Pieces of medieval roof tile were also found in the same location. Later, in 1992, metal detecting here recovered a medieval lead weight, two medieval buckle plates and a medieval bell.

Scatter (twelve sherds in one hour under medium conditions) of Thetford Ware and medieval pottery. See Notes.
There was little trace of pottery between this scatter (Context 1) and the earthwork site to the north.

1983 and earlier. Context 2.
Many Late Saxon and medieval sherds, and medieval tile, in area north of above finds barren before.
