Summary

Finds of Neolithic flint blades and flakes, together with post medieval waste from gunflint manufacture, indicate that this area may have been both a prehistoric and post medieval flint working site. A post medieval jetton was found in the area in 1979.

Found 12cm (five inches) deep in digging out two Victorian coins found with metal detector.
Grey brown Neolithic flint blade, 63mm long, 20mm wide at striking platform.
Seen by E. Rose (NAU) at NCM.

1979.

Approximately same site. Surface finds, details not known.
Flint tools: two blades, one flake, one retouched flake.

Approximately same site. South bank of river, about 60cm to 90cm (2 to 3 feet) deep.
Flint waste from gunflint manufacture.
