Summary

In the late 18th century a large number of 'Roman and Saxon' coins were found in Long Stratton. It is possible that some of these coins could date to the Iron Age.

John Sharpe of Stratton had a 'large number of Roman and Saxon coins' from 'the town'.

It should be noted that certain books around 1800 described what are obviously Iron Age coins and call them Saxon.
