Full Description
Rectory; dated 1661 on sundial.
Information from NCM Bolingbroke Collection.
On 1st edition 1 inch Ordnance Survey map (S1) as Rookery Farm.
Could this be the same as site NHER 13453?
This house has a totally 19th century exterior; a small projecting rear wing (now a separate house) is said by its owners to be the oldest part and to have 'rough beams' which they do not think are older than the 18th century. The sundial, on the main house south gable, is indeed dated 1661 but the owners think it was brought from elsewhere - it is said to be identical to one on Paston School, North Walsham.
There is no evidence to link this house with site NHER 13453.
It became a rectory around 1860.
Visited and compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 5 November 1981.
Site NHER 13453 is now located elsewhere.
