Summary

During the early 19th-century or before a brass Deanery Seal of Breccles is believed to have been found somewhere in the vicinity Swaffham. In 1849 a number of medieval objects, including a ring with a seal of a woman's head, were recovered from the parish of Swaffham. The exact locations of these discoveries are unclear.

Believed to have been found "…in the neighbourhood of Swaffham":
Brass Deanery Seal of Breccles. Probably early 15th century.
Noted in (S1) and described and figured in (S2). The author of the latter, Henry Plowright, states that it had been in his family "…more than fifty years…", suggesting it had been found prior to 1820.

List of finds, apparently all by Plowright, given by (S3) for this year. Those which do not already have cards are: ring with seal of woman's head and 'Roman'; bronze crosses; iron spur; brass stirrup; bronze snuffers.
