Summary

It is recorded that a building referred to as 'Hovell's Manor' existed in the parish of Swannington until it was pulled down in 1850. However there is no indication of this on maps of 1842, and no evidence of this building has been recorded.

Hovell's Manor, pulled down 1850.

In a coffer were found the coat of arms of the Hoo family, given to NCM.
Information from NCM Bolingbroke Collection.

This reference comes from Bryant (S1), but there is no trace of this building on the 1842 tithe map, nor of any other large building now gone. Blomefield mentions a Hovell as having a warren here during the time of Edward II.
