Map

In cutting the new sluice at Magdalen Fall (i.e. the 'New Drain' on (S1)). Half mile west of Magdalen Bridge (i.e. on the Ouse) was found by Mr Emerson in soil 4.8m (16ft) deep, a gravestone 2.4m (8ft) long, and a cartwheel.
The stone was put in Wiggenhall Magdalen churchyard. Oaks and fir trees were found at 0.6-0.9m (2-3ft) deep.
The stone coffin lid in Magdalen churchyard is said to be the one dating to around 1660 in question.
Gybbon Goddard, Recorder of Lynn, quoted by (S2). This sounds like a garbled version of Tom Hickathrift!
What was really found at that depth?
