Many windows blocked.
Late 17th century.
19th century shops and doors knocked in east end of south front.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 21 February 1978.
(S1) names as Church House and Stylman Brothers, formerly Victoria Inn.
Building is a U plan open to north with 17th century west wing, and 17th century rear main block of 2 builds.

Base of east wall revealed as clunch.
See copies of photographs in file.
E. Rose (NLA) 25 October 2000.
September 2004.
Detailed examination of west wing (Old Victoria) and exterior of remainder showed that the building has an early core possibly about 1600, but that the exterior, though in the style of about 1700, is only one third of that date, the remainder being of the late 18th century yet imitating the earlier style.
Regency alterations.
19th century stable to west.
Garden wall of that date contains reused medieval carved stonework.
See (S2) in file.
E. Rose (NLA), 21 September 2004.
